According to a recent announcement at the NRA Conference in Houston, Fabbrica D’Armi Pietro Beretta’s new PICO handgun will feature an integral laser-light combination from LaserMax. The Pico will be chambered in .380 ACP, but the shooter will be able to modify the weapon to .32 ACP with a barrel switch and quick-change dovetail sights. It is an extremely small pistol, 18mm at its widest point, with a stainless steel slide assembly that carries a sub-chassis bearing the weapon serial number. This allows the shooter to fit the pistol with one of several interchangeable frames without compromising serialization, a unique feature that will allow an interesting and unusual method of customization. LaserMax will provide integrated light-laser combos as upgrades to the individual Pico upgrades – complete firearm assemblies will be available, and laser-light frame options will be sold separately as upgrades to the base model. “It was Beretta’s objective to provide the finest selection of enhancements to the cutting-edge Pico pistol platform and LaserMax is delighted to have been selected for the collaboration,” explained Jeff Mock, LaserMax VP of Engineering. “Our design teams worked extremely well together and the result was a fully-integrated system that we feel is far greater than the sum of its parts.” Further customization will be available in the area of color, as modular frame options will include black, FDE (Flat Dark Earth), white and purple.
