Billy “Bacon-Eater” Shea has some new sling designs up on his Facebook page, if you're looking for a different approach (but practical) approach to your weapon sling. Shea runs Billy's Custom Gun Works, a family business in White Cloud, Michigan. Most everything he does revolves around paracord (as in Type III mil-spec 550c cord), though he also does some work with firearms. Shea is a US Army disabled veteran who makes everything by hand. Perhaps the most unique piece of gear Billy makes (all of it is done by hand) are his long gun slings. For instance, below are an Operator and a Defender sling. Above you see the adjustable, QD operator single point made with OD webbing, black hardware and black PALS panel. It's knotted with black inner/OD outer paracord and features a matching dog tag. Below you see the adjustable, QD, single point Defender shotgun sling. It's made with black webbing and Coy hardware, and a Coy shot shell panel. It's knotted with coyote inner and black out paracord wrap. This one is the adjustable, single point Survivor 550 cord sling. It's made to carry SOF-T, C.A.T. or similar tourniquets in a readily accessible and easily deployable configuration. (The red paracord is to indicate a medical device and is optional). D-Rings from ITW Nexus, webbing and elastic TQ carrier from TAREINCO, Quick Detach using 80′ or more Type III 7-strand paracord in one or two colors as desired. Multiple webbing, hardware and cord colors are available. HK style ITW C.L.A.S.H. hook or QD swivel are options as well. Note: some will obviously wonder about placing a TQ on the sling. This isn't for everyone and certainly isn't ideal for every environment; that doesn't mean it doesn't have its place. Read more on different sling types and instructions on how to order here. There is no website for Billy's Custom Gunworks, just his Facebook page. However you can e-mail him directly at billy_22_mi(at)yahoo.com. If you're interested in a particular sling (these, or the B.A.M.F., not shown) then you'll need to list your choice of model, webbing/hardware color/ panel color (if applicable), right/left hand panel placement and preference of inner/outer 550 cord color.
