RECOIL contributor, Sage Dynamics HMFIC and Agent 47 Stunt Double Aaron Cowan has been putting the Trijicon Miniature Rifle Optic through its paces. Thus far he likes the wide field of view, which he advises is greater than the Micro (which most people consider to be the MRO's natural competitor), though the mount is “basic, but solid.” Interestingly, the mount seems to be the source of the greatest “discontent” with the MRO thus far (though how so many people can opine without actually using one is one of the 11 Great Mysteries of the Interwebz). Apparently it's not streamlined enough, and admittedly it does have a somewhat blocky look. Maybe someone like Scalarworks will square that away at some point, but I doubt the function over form crowd will mind the wait for aftermarket aesthetic improvements. Here's a picture of the two optics together. Watch for what will undoubtedly be a ridiculously long but informative (that's what she said) video review to come on the Sage Dynamics YouTube channel. Its too early for him to provide his usual doctoral thesis but he says initial impressions are good. Hat tip to Georgia Optics. Oh, and by the way Aaron – happy anniversary to you and your lady, and our best to the ‘hog.
