RECOILtv Gun Room (s01e05): Mid America Armament Rapid Take Down Kit When you’re carrying a rifle case around holding your favorite AR, there’s little chance of mistaking your luggage for something else. So what’s needed to carry it discretely? The Mid America Armament Rapid Take Down Kit allows you to separate the barrel and handguard from the receivers. No special tools or proprietary barrels needed. Just pick the handguard length you want for your rifle, M-Lok or KeyMod system you prefer, and with a conversion kit you can even change calibers with the necessary supporting components. The anti-rotation tabs on the handguard keep the barrel from coming loose. We pair it up to a Troy Defense TROY Alpha Carbine which includes their Tomahawk stock system to ensure the length of the lower half is iddy biddy. But does it retain zero?
