Learn More StealthegearUSA has added a new holster option for those that want to save a few bucks on their next inside the waistband holster. The new liberty holsters carry a price point of only $29.95 saving the end user about $30 over the ready to use REVOLUTION line of holsters that share features with the Liberty holster kit. StealthgearUSA made a splash several years ago with the Ventcore holster that changed how the industry looked at hybrid holsters. Previously the only material used was some form of animal hide that was more comfortable than Kydex holsters have been in the past but trapped heat and sweat like a plastic bag. The REVOLUTION holster introduced in late 2016 was a lower cost version of the Ventcore holster that was designed to perform as close to the flagship model. To get quality gear to shooters, StealthgearUSA has rolled out the Liberty holster kit to allow concealed carriers to assemble their holster with all of the hard work done. Just a few steps to soften the edges and use the included hardware to assemble everything and you have a solid holster. The kit will include a shell molded for your gun that is still in raw form. Like previously mentioned that means that you will need to sand and buff the edges to get rid of any sharp edges. StealthgearUSA offers the shell in a ton of different colors and finishes mostly in a 0.93-inch thickness with the exception of two patterns that are only available in 0.80-inch thick Kydex. While the edges of the holster look rough, I was assured that finishing the holster only takes 15 minutes to a half hour with some easy to find sandpaper and a green scrubby pad. The holster platform material is the same ACX-57 polymer that's used on the REVOLUTION holsters except like the holster shell, it is also unfinished. Just like the unfinished shell, all you need to bring the platform up to snuff is use that same sandpaper and green scrubby pad to soften the edges. Like the rest of StealthgearUSA's holsters, the Liberty platform is sized for each gun and is not compatible with other models. They do this to make sure there's no excess material getting in the way. StealthgearUSA makes sure to include all of the spacers, washers, screws, and nuts that you might need to assemble the holster once you have buffed the edges to your satisfaction. You have the choice between standard hardware or stainless steel hardware at an additional charge. Like the rest of their holsters, you can choose from a slew of really great clips like the polymer two-hole clip or the spring steel clips seen below. Not on display was the j-clip option or the colored polymer two-hole clips. The finished product looks pretty dang serviceable and should make a pretty solid concealed carry holster. Check out StealthgearUSA's website to see which models the Liberty holster is being offered for. MSRP for the holster kits is a bargain at only $29.95.
