This year Spyderco unveiled a few new designs at the 2020 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada The Endela Emerson Opener Spyderco Endela Emerson Opener Spyderco's Endela is a good example of a working knife designed to split the difference betwen two of Spyderco's popular models: the Endura and the Delica. The new name reflects this by combining the names of the other two knives. For 2020, Spyderco is offering this model with Emerson's Wave Shaped Opening Device. Even though you have four-positions to mount the clip for either left or right-hand carry and tip-up or tip-down. To make use of the Wave Shaped opener, tip-up is the only way to go in order to deploy the blade on the draw from the pocket. The handles are fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) with skeletonized stainless steel liners. For steel, Spyderco went with VG-10, better known as a kitchen knife steel. It has a high carbon content for edge retention and enough cobalt, vanadium, and molybdenum to place make it a stainless steel. It features in art, religion as well as on battlefields over the past 10,000 years or so. Spyderco's Nightstick was designed by custom knifemaker Gayle Bradley and even though it lacks the double edges of a traditional dagger for legality (some jurisdictions restrict this type of blade) it retains the traditional symmetrical bevels. Well-balanced with a flat-ground CPM S30V stainless steel blade and G-10 handles, this boot knife comes in a sheath made of Bolatron with a Spyderco G-Clip. One of the few things in the world that every culture has in common are their knives. Drawing inspiration from the traditional knife of the Chokwe people of Central and Southern Africa, the original Spyderco Chokwe was a popular piece in the Ethnic Series of knives. The Watu is based on this design in a smaller and handier incarnation. The triangular blade is flat-ground from CPM 20CV stainless steel. The coffin-shaped carbon fiber/G-10 laminate scales are and paired with skeletonized stainless steel liners and a Compression Lock mechanism. The deep-pocket wire clip is reversible and designed tip-up carry.
