You know if I said what the hell is Amazon in 1994, you'd all likely understand my confusion. It's an odd name for a website that started selling books and ended up making movies. I said the same thing when an email drifted into my inbox telling me about Everest. First thoughts were it's a cold-weather gear company, or maybe a boot company, or a climbing company. Well, as usual, I was wrong, and Everest is a company with a name a lot like Amazon. Its the name of a famed portion of the world… and it sells stuff. Where Everest is different is that they aren't starting by selling books. They've chosen to start by selling guns and gun stuff, tactical gear, tools, etc. What's important to remember is that Everest isn't just another Brownells. Everest is like Amazon or eBay in the way it allows sellers from across the country to come together and hawk their wares to a national audience. Everest saw a significant gap in a market because the places individual sellers can showcase guns and gear is getting pretty slim. Sites like Amazon used to be an excellent hub for gear, but over time it's excluded anything for AR, AK, or similar style rifles. Other related websites have done the same and began limiting or outright banning anything firearm related. Launching Everest Everest launched on March 1st, 2020, and its launch started with 500 active sellers offering half a million products. The website seems easy to navigate and looks great. There is no keyword stuffing or spammy posts that other gun marketplace websites seem to suffer from. Adds seem to be unobtrusive and pushed to the side. Everest also offers what they call a Caliber membership that costs nine bucks a month. This gives you free express shipping on Caliber eligible products, discounts, access to Caliber video, and seemingly a lot more. With that in mind, they should offer a means to filter your search with Caliber approved items. As a fan of free shipping, this is a box I check on most websites with similar membership options. Everest is an awesome idea, and personally, I want to see it grow, and I think it could be an awesome way to give shoppers like me more choice, and it could give the mom and pop gun store an online presence and access to a much larger customer base. It's an interesting idea, and from the start, Everest seems to be doing it right with a clean, easy to use website, and an advanced membership option. They aren't holding back.
