Phokus Research Group’s Hoplite Focusing Cover for NVGs

NODs are not yet so easily obtained as to be considered “everyman” equipment, but that is slowly changing. As technology and manufacturing process improve, cost goes down and availability goes up. What was once almost exclusively the purview of the military is now more and more often going out on hog hunts, appearing on weapon systems at the range and accompanying “adventurers” into remote places.

As good as night vision devices are getting, they still have limitations (depth perception, peripheral view, etc.), particularly the need to constantly adjust focus. Phokus Research Group makes an interesting after-market attachment that helps mitigate this frequent need to adjust (and it provides protection to the objective lens). Those of you who have worn NVGs issued by the military or purchased from someplace like TNVC know what a pain in the ass the constant need to adjust can be; the “Hoplite Focusing Cover” appears to be a good solution (and has been out long enough to have been amply tested in the field).

NODs of all types are obviously far less common than other pieces of gear found in the pro-Second Amendment gun culture, but if you are someone who has a set of NVGs (or if you're military/LEO/PMSC), this might be worth checking out.
