We heard recently that Boker USA is introducing a new knife called the Caracal FB. This knife is a fixed blade option with full tang that won't break the bank. Here’s what they tell us. Boker USA Introduces the Caracal FB Boker USA is proud to introduce the Caracal FB by Boker Plus. This compact fixed blade knife, designed by Boris Manasherov, not only provides superior durability with its full tang construction and 4.8mm blade thickness, but also outstanding ergonomics with the positioning of the grooves. The bellied blade, made of trusted D2, has a flat grind and easily tackles even heavy duty jobs. The extended tang functions as an impact element and lanyard hole, and the rugged G-10 handle scales provide a comfortable and secure grip. Includes a Kydex sheath and belt adapter. Boker has been around since 1869. Beginning in the 17th century, Boker begn as a tool maker. They progressed to blades and swords during the 1800’s. According to their site: As early as September 1830, the accounting records indicate a weekly production of 2,000 items, made by 64 smiths, 47 grinders and a large number of unskilled laborers. In view of the constantly increasing variety of tools and cutting instruments and the good opportunities for worldwide sales, the family realized that the individual steps in the manufacturing process had to be spread out for optimal realization of its interests. As a result, Hermann Boeker emigrated and founded H. Boeker & Co. in New York. Young Robert developed his enterprise in Canada, founding a branch in Mexico later in 1865.
