CZ took a different approach to Cyber Monday, dropping details of a new suppressed Scorpion in lieu of cyber deals.

Announced casually via Instagram, the gun maker teased the reflex suppressed Scorpion as one of its new products slated to hit consumers in 2018.

According to CZ, the Scorpion will feature a fully-welded titanium can, the S2 Ti Reflex, designed to fit under an HB Industries handguard. The suppressor features a 2-inch reflex blast chamber and a weight of just 9.6-ounces. Protruding past the muzzle 5.83-inches, the company says the can’s design spits out 147 grain defensive loads under 130 dB.

Unable to source a suppressor within the current marketplace, CZ was forced to create a suppressor of its own design. Partnering with Aerocharger the gun maker set out to craft a lightweight yet capable can.

“With increasing use of Scorpions by law enforcement, we knew the time was quickly approaching when we’d need suppressed variants to meet the demands of some of the special units we work with. Not only that, we needed a suppressor that could maximize the available real estate of the Scorpion package while keeping the overall length as short as possible,” CZ said. “Teaming up with the airflow specialists at Aerocharger, we were able to achieve the suppression of larger, bulkier cans but in a much lighter, shorter package.”

CZ is prepared to drop two models, a stainless steel and titanium version, in 2018; though no official release date has been provided. The stainless steel variant will feature a MSRP of $599 while the titanium model slips in slightly higher at $929.
