As I previously mentioned, I will be using the online Daniel Defense “Build Your Own DDM4” system to build a rifle. Once I have it in my hands, I'll be reviewing it. I like the “BYO” concept DD has going on. As one of my saltier friends from Camp Lejeune said, “It's like a Build a Bear for shooting bad guys in the face.”

He didn't use the word bad guy, he used a different term, but you get the point.

I was lucky enough that the specific parts I wanted were all in stock. I'll list my tentative choices below. If there's something else you'd rather see me review, let me know in the comment section. I'll be going with an 18″ barrel and Geissle trigger, the former because I think it will be a better choice than what I currently have for the MagPul Dynamics Precision Rifle course. I'll be attending that next month, and I'm hoping this DD arrives in time. The latter quite honestly because I've never tried one.

Quick rundown – I chose “Build Complete Rifle” and then the following attributes:

  • ·DDM4 Complete Lower w/Geissle SSA Trigger
  • ·Mid length gas system in 5.56mm NATO
  • ·18” Barrel
  • ·Muzzle Climb mitigator 5.56mm NATO
  • ·Standard bolt carrier group
  • ·Modular float rail
  • ·Fixed front rear sight combo
  • ·ConVert Foregrip Assembly, Black

This is what it looks like:

If you have any input for me, I'd love to hear it.
