Don’t Mind If I Do I am a utility belt wearing mug. I believe the waistline is the most under considered platform of the human structure by most modern militaries. Through trial, error, rucking loads, shitty loadout SOPs, miles rucked or humped, and experience one comes to consider the waistline just as important as the fore-end of an AR15 when considering weight distribution. This particular belt just arrived for me to review. I already see and feel some really good attributes, some the likes I’ve never seen before in the dozen or so platforms I’ve tried in the past. Compared to the “padded” belts I’ve previously used, this one answers a couple immediate solutions right off the bat. First is belt width. There is a magic number when it comes to surface area friction on the waist line and my initial impression is that this belt looks close to that number. My next consideration is the general integral shape of a belt. The military issued war-belts of the Cold War era offered very little in this area. (though don’t get me wrong, I still have use for my old H-harness with war-belt set-up). The concave inner padded mesh will also be exciting to test. Lastly, I really like the arrangement of 2 rows of ½ in. webbing surrounding the exterior of the belt. Keep It Simple Stupid seems to be the motto of this piece of kit, and it seems like they've done that without sacrificing functionality or durability. Keeping It Simple Stupid usually translates to keeping it light weight and functional. Stand-by for my full review of this thing. I hope to have it you by Black Friday. I have a lot of Trackers to make between now and then, and we’re going to run it through its paces. Meantime learn more about the Tyr Gunfighter right here.
