Founded in 2005 by the Army Marksmanship Unit(AMU), the Fort Benning 3 Gun Challenge match has proven to be a unique opportunity for shooters to interact with service personnel while competing in stages that incorporate military hardware and themes. One of the missions of the AMU is to increase small arms lethality. The AMU used the match as an opportunity to observe advances in small arms technology and techniques coming out of the competitive arena, thus furthering that part of the mission. The match is coming back for 2015 after a 5 year hiatus.
