Gnats Ass Production Class-The GAP PPR

One of my favorite announcements for 2020 was hearing that GA Precision has released a Production Class rifle, dubbed the Pinnacle Production Rifle, or PPR for short. In the past few years, precision rifle shooting has charged ahead without looking back, and with more and more folks looking to try their hand at precision rifle competition, the Production Class is a great starting point. The Production Class was designed to encourage new shooters to participate while preventing them from being at a disadvantage due to the lack of custom equipment.

Per the Precision Rifle Series website, the PRS rulebook states:

“For the purpose of the Production Division, a rifle is defined as a publicly available rifle per the original manufacturer's configuration of a complete firearm which will be comprised of at least but not limited to the following: stock with bottom metal or chassis, a complete action, a barrel, and a trigger mechanism.”

Additionally, Production Class rules state that the cost of the rifle must not exceed $2,500 USD per the company's website, and that the optic must not exceed $2,000 USD per the company's website. But, enough about the rules, let's take a look at GA Precision's new rifle!

The first thing you should know is that any rifle made by GAP will be of the highest quality, down to every detail. Speaking of the details, here are the specs:

Trigger: Triggertech GAP Special

Stock: Manners Composite Stocks, Model T2-A GAP with heavy fill

Stock Color: GAP Field-Grade molded-in camo

Bottom metal: Manners Gen 2 Mini-Chassis, ready for AICS or AIAW style magazines

Barrel: 26″ Bartlein Barrels, Inc, Stainless Steel, MTU+ contour, 1:7.2″ twist rate, Threaded 5/8 x 24 tpi (various muzzle brakes or thread protector available)

Chamberings: 6mm Creedmoor, 6mm GT

Right in line with Production class rules, this rifle will retail for $2,499 plus shipping to your FFL. The PPR will be available for order between January 27th and March 1st, with a ship date between March 1st and April 1st.
