This year's title as the NRA World Shooting Champion has been claimed by Greg Jordan. Jordan triumphed over 70 professional and 232 amateur competitors this past weekend. Lena Miculek defended her title as the NRA World Shooting High Lady, finishing 14th overall, respectively.

The NRA World Shooting Championship is a match in its own category. Started in 2014, the NRA World Shooting Championship filled a void in competitive shooting where clear boundaries previously defined match formats. Shooting organizations and their rules have previously kept different types of shooting competitions from co-mingling. The match combines 12 shooting disciplines into the three-day match to identify the most well-rounded competitive shooter. The match includes:

  • 2 Gun
  • 3 Gun
  • Precision Pistol
  • Bianchi Falling Plates
  • USPSA
  • 22 Rimfire Challenge
  • Cowboy Action
  • Precision Rifle Series
  • Designated Marksman Rifle Challenge
  • America's Rifle Challenge
  • Wobble Clays
  • 5 Stand

The match is broken down into two divisions: Professional and Amateur. The Pros compete for the overall title and a check from the NRA for $25,000. Guns, optics, gear, and ammo are provided throughout the match by sponsors. The same guns, gear, and optics used during the match are then put on the prize tables. The cash and prizes provided by sponsors totaled $250,000 for this year's match. With sponsors provided all the needed equipment to compete, shooters just have to show up and shoot.

Congratulations to 2017 NRA World Shooting Champion Greg Jordan and High Lady Lena Miculek!

“Since its inception, the NRA World Shooting Championship has been a true test of skill in a wide variety of shooting disciplines. All the guns, optics and ammo are provided to shooters by the NRA and through generous corporate sponsorship, which not only keeps everyone on an equal playing field, but also allows for the public to try out guns and accessories they might not see on an average trip to the range. For example, this year the PRS stage featured the Surgeon .308 AI AT Chassis, which isn’t even on the market yet. Over the years, the match winners—Daniel Horner, Bruce Piatt, Doug Koenig and 2017 champion Greg Jordan—have formed an elite fraternity that is not replicated anywhere else in the shooting sports. This year, the championship had more shooters than ever before, and just about everybody I talked to this year planned to return in 2018.” – John Parker, Managing Editor, NRA Shooting Sports USA

“With this being the 4th year competition at the NRA World Shooting Championship I’m extremely excited to take home the win this year. I have learned a ton from shooting this match over the years and would encourage anyone, from any discipline to come out and give this match a try.” – Greg Jordan, NRA World Shooting Champion
