Currently the most imitated and duplicated weapon optic on the market is the Aimpoint Micro. This isn't without reason. We don't even have to get into their durability–the compact size alone makes it suitable not just as a primary optic on a myriad of rifles and shotguns but also we've seen them mounted on handguns with ALG's 6 Second Mount, Unity Tactical's ATOM mount, and even something new from the skunkworks of KE Arms. Mounting solutions for the Aimpoint Micro are practically an industry all to themselves. You've got options from more than a dozen manufacturers for rifles alone. Now, Aimpoint has decided to give you an option that doesn't require ordering anything extra or even touching a tool when used in conjunction with an AR-15. Here's what they have to say about it: Chantilly, VA – December 15, 2015 – Aimpoint has announced the addition of a new line of pre-mounted Micro T-2 and Micro H-2 sights, that are immediately ready for use on AR-15 and M4 Carbine style rifles. These sights come equipped with Aimpoint's Lever Release Picatinny (LRP) Mount, and a 39mm spacer that provides absolute co-witness with backup iron sights on AR15 and M4 Carbine style rifles. The rail pressure on the LRP is fully adjustable, and the mount allows return-to-zero replacement if the sight is removed and replaced in the same position on the same rifle. The 39mm spacer can be removed in order to lower the optical axis of the sight for use on shotguns or submachineguns. Currently it appears only 100% co-witness mounts will initially be available, which means that the deployed iron sights and red dot are on the same plane. But given the modular nature of the system, we wouldn't be surprised to see a taller spacer for a lower 1/3rd co-witness option in a near future.
