Gear Pulsar releases the newest Recon NOD: X870 Recoil Staff August 24, 2015 Join the Conversation At RECOIL, we review every product fairly and without bias. Making a purchase through one of our links may earn us a small commission, and helps support independent gun reviews. Learn More Texas based Sellmark tells us Pulsar just released their new night vision device. It's the Recon X870, a 5.5 magnification (752 x 582 camera resolution) monocular with what they describe as the highest resolution of all recon models. Says Sellmark, “The new Recon is designed with an intuitive easy-to-use interface, packed into a lightweight and durable composite housing while featuring the highest sensor resolution of all Recon models.” The X870 is equipped with a 915nm laser IR illuminator (invisible to the naked eye) and an OLED display of 640 x 480 resolution. Apparently the device can be used in environments as cold as 13 below Fahrenheit. Jeff Murray, Pulsar VP of Sales and National Accounts, describes it thusly; “The new Pulsar Recon X870 is a revolutionary digital night vision monocular. The Recon X870 was designed for a wide array of uses and activities from hunting to surveillance and provides users the ability to spot objects at over 300 yards. The features built into these compact units are what set them apart from anything else on the market. Nothing in its class can compare to the resolution, range, features, and price.” Unfortunately the way to actually buy a Recon X870 is not terribly intuitive. Checking Pulsar NV's Where to Buy section tells you to go to Sellmark; going to Sellmark does not provide a ready link to purchase. With some digging and judicious Googling we found what appears to be the new device listed for just under $1,000 at Anacortes Gun Shop. Whether that's the recommended MSRP or where else you can purchase one remains unknown. We'll ask them to provide more information next time they send us a press release. On the good side if you happen to be in Indonesia you can buy one at Dunia Outdoor. Find Pulsar online here and on Facebook here. You can subscribe to their YouTube channel right here. They are also on Google +. You can find Sellmark online here and on Facebook here. More information on the Recon X870 right here.
