The 5th Wave

Wave 1: Destroy power and infrastructure. Wave 2: Natural disasters that overwhelm any possible response. Wave 3: Plagues and pandemics. Wave 4: Infiltration and invasion. Wave 5: ______

Based on the novel by Rick Yancey, The 5th Wave stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Liev Schreiber and Maika Monroe. It's a sci-fi action film wherein the survivors of humanity fight back against an alien species overrunning the planet. Unfortunately, from the looks of the trailer Director J Blakeson was unable to afford decent advisers for the firearm-related scenes.

What a shock. Too bad they couldn't get someone like Saoirse Una Ronan to play the lead role and someone like Taran Butler to do the technical consultation (he did Collateral and The Kingdom among others).

Of course, it's a young adult novel so maybe we're being too harsh. Here's the trailer.
