We discussed a potential Monday Morning Carry centered around the P9C a couple weeks back, promising some other options centered on that weapon. Well, here's another.

No doubt like many of you, some of us have had a lasting more-hating sort of love/hate relationship with the M&P models for many years. That is almost entirely because of the factory trigger. We just don't like he way it's designed — there's creep, slop, and mush, which is a terrible combination in a firearm (or a blind date).

Shooting is all about consistency, and the M&P’s factory trigger is anything but. However we found a cure from the gun doctors at Apex, and after sourcing a trigger kit through Brownells, we turned the M&P9C into one of our go-to guns for EDC.

The Apex Tactical S&W M&P Forward Set Sear & Trigger Kit includes a forward set sear, trigger, striker block kit, and spring kit; you can read more about this potential modification in this article here.

The Apex eliminates the slop or mushiness in the trigger by eliminating pre-travel and over-travel, and it encourages trigger manipulation directly in line with the bore axis. Additionally, the Apex shortens the stroke of the trigger while smoothing out the trigger pull and providing a positive reset. There's no reason not to like that.

With that in mind, let's look at another way to carry an S&W P9C.

Monday Morning Carry: Breakfast with a P9C (Pt. 2)

This is our more common EDC for going around town. Big change here from before is the automatic knife. We testified before our state senate subcommittee to help legalize switchblades in our adopted home state and we make the most of the fruits of our labor.

That knife is, “one we got off an East German Fella”, a Severtech Spartan named for the 2004 movie in which it appeared. Blade is A2 tool steel and will cut metal.

We've also upped the flashlight to a PK Design Labs F2LE.

The holster you see is an LAG Tactical design that gives you two holsters in one by switching out clips. You can go IWB or OWB in minutes. Our default is IWB.

What do you carry, and why? Anything you'd change here?
