They're built of TAD's USA Doomsday Canvas, described as an “…optimized blend of cotton and nylon permanently treated with a high performance, flame-resistant (FR) finish.” They say the Doomsday Intercept DCs lie in the grey zone between performance and style, and it looks like maybe they're not exaggerating. Says Triple Aught Design, “Doomsday Canvas is an innovative, high-tech, flame resistant material that reduces the flammability risks of momentary exposure to electric arc flash and flash fire hazards. The permanent Flame-Resistant treatment is chemically bound to the cotton in the fabric. Please note that Doomsday Canvas is not intended for use as the primary protection in fire fighting or repeated / extended exposure to heat or flame. [It is built using]…a proprietary ammonia-free process, this patent-pending HRC2 fabric is NFPA 2112 compliant and is the lightest weight option available, weighing in at 11.50 ounces. Specially designed to mitigate potential injuries due to electric arc and flash fire exposure, the combination of these capabilities delivers exceptional protection alongside engineered comfort…” Currently available online right here. Features as described: 5-pocket silhouette with modernized lines, shank button fly, and industrial detailing. “Hellfire Resistant” Concealed pockets on the yoke can secure your phone or a spare magazine comfortably, even when seated. Carefully spaced, wide belt loops balance and distribute the weight of belt-mounted gear around the entire waistline. Hidden triple needle stitching on the in- and outseam, flat felled back rise, and a reinforced cuff provide lasting durability. Bartacks secure all critical attachment points, and TAD diamond reinforcements protect pockets from premature wear from knife or tool clips. The Covert DC Pant is patterned to accommodate the natural shrinkage that occurs in cotton and will measure true to size after initial washing and drying. If you already own a pair of TAD pants, select the same size. Most people will not need to size up or down, but you should take into account the fit of this product. Their Standard Fit is designed to fit comfortably and is neither form fitted nor loose. To ensure these pants perform to their intended design, TAD advises you should not use bleach, detergents containing peroxide, fabric softeners, or starch, which can coat the fibers and mask performance or compromise fabric strength. They may also serve as a combustion agent. They recommend washing on hot and tumbling dry on medium heat. Stains may be treated with a non-bleach commercial removal product. If desired, iron with a synthetic or cotton setting with or without steam. These may be dry cleaned. Guaranteed flame resistance for the life of the garment when washed according to care instructions.
