Learn More KE Arms, short for Kenney Enterprises was born in 2012 when owner Mike Kenney realized the demand for ARs outweighed the supply by a large margin. Coming from manufacturing hi-end automobile parts, KE was able to jump into the firearms industry with much success. For the longest time I thought KE Arms only made triggers. At SHOT Show this year, I discovered they make a wide array of AR parts and accessories that include complete lowers, uppers, handguards and much more. Everything KE makes is manufactured in-house at their headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. I recently built an AR using the KE-15 lower receiver as the base for my build. I’m very impressed with the purposefulness that went into design. Made from 7075-billet aluminum, the KE-15 has an extremely large flare on the magwell, making mag changes almost effortless. It reminds me a lot of the Noveske Gen 2 magwell. The oversized magazine release button is integrated nicely into the lower receiver and is .55 inches wide by .67 inches tall. Fit and finish were spot on all the way around. Lower Build Specs: KE Arms KE-15 Lower Receiver – $279.95 MSRP KE Arms DMR Trigger – $179.95 MSRP KE Arms Ambidextrous Safety – $34.95 MSRP XTech ATG Adjustable Grip – $19.99 MSRP Mission First Tactical Minimalist Stock – $59.99 MSRP The trigger broke for me right at the advertised 4.5lb mark. There is very little pre-travel creep and the break is clean and crisp. The reset is short and feels smooth with a very positive feel. Overall, the trigger is excellent. Upper Build Specs: Fortis Billet Upper Receiver – $219.95 MSRP Lantac E-BCG – $285 MSRP KE Arms Delta P 12.5” M-LOK Rail – $161.95 MSRP KE Arms Charging Handle – $42.95 MSRP KE Arms Gas Block – $34.95 MSRP Hera Arms Linear Compensator – $149 MSRP Trijicon MRO Optic – $579 MSRP Alamo 4-Star MRO Mount – $119 MSRP The Fortis upper mated very nicely to the KE lower and the finishes both matched well. I really like how the build turned out. Out of all the lowers I own, the KE-15 is truly the easiest to manipulate when it comes to mag changes because of the magwell and mag button design. The KE M-Lok rail is perfect for those wanting to run a silencer with the internal diameter of 1.745”. That should accommodate most silencers on the market. I love the transition from M-Lok to Picatinny rails at the end. It makes for a comfortable hold and doesn’t feel over-sized. KE Arms has definitely won me over with their attention to detail, designs and quality for the price. You can find more info at http://www.kearms.com or give them a follow on Facebook or Instagram.
