KRISS USA has introduced the KYMERA! A hammer-fired modular handgun designed to bring hammer-fired DA/SA into a new modern era. Chambered in 9mm, the KYMERA is an optics-ready, Double Action/Single Action (DA/SA) pistol featuring a modular grip system. The replaceable grip modules, available in various angles and sizes, are designed to accommodate different preferences and hand sizes while remaining compatible with the original magazines. This design aims to enhance the natural point of aim and provide improved control and usability for a range of shooting styles. The modular design allows the KYMERA to transition between full-size and compact configurations, supporting diverse uses such as personal defense and competitive shooting. It includes interchangeable components and upgrade options for further customization. Additionally, the slide is precision-cut for the licensed Agency Optic System (AOS) plate, created in collaboration with Agency Arms, and includes an integral rear sight cut to accommodate red dot optics. A closer look at the release pictures provided by KRISS raises some interesting questions. There are two distinctly different frames being shown. Both frames appear to not be WML compatable. This could be the result of these being pre-production units without final designs, or maybe KRISS has different WML plans for the Kymera. They also look to have ambi controls. The slide feature deep, wide serrations, and the frame has a large extended slide release lever. Iron sights look like simple sights without any dots or night sight upgrades. Again, these could be pre-production sights and the final product might include dots. It’s unknown based on the information released if the Kymera has a de-cocker, de-cocker/manual safety, or just a manual safety.Pricing, availability, magazine compatibility and many other questions still remain as KRISS as only just announced this new pistol. First look at the gun will occur during SHOT Show next week! We’ll be sure to stop by and take a closer look.
