Learn More It is no secret that we love the annual Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show. Every now and then we come across something that looks so cool we have to have it regardless of how impractical it may be. Not every firearm has to be a self-defense arm, hunting rifle or even a range toy. We found one this year that may not be a regular shooter for us but definitely something we think would make the start of a neat collection. A crate of what looks like a batch of brand new Mosin-Nagant M91/30s. Of course if you have little ones and want to get them into our lifestyle of shooting, hunting and collecting; it could be their new gateway. No, it is not a case of brand spanking new Mosin-Nagant rifles. The Mini-Mosin This is actually a miniature .22lr version of the Mosin-Nagant 91/30 Rifle of WWII fame. It promises to be the first of a series of Mini Mil-Surp rifles, a collection of five WWI and WWII rifles scaled down for young shooters and chambered in the .22lr cartridge. Now the kids can harness their own internal Vasily Zaitsev! Brought to you by Keystone Sporting Arms (KSA), makers of the Crickett youth rifles, the KSA 91/30 looks more like something collectors of Mosins, milsurps and the like may be more into than their kids. The KSA 91/30 has a 20″ barrel, said to be precision-machined to ensure the durability and accuracy that is normally reserved for full-sized rifles. The action is based on the single-shot Crickett design and has a straight-handled bolt, just like the original Mosins. The sights are copies of the originals found on the Mosins (scaled down, of course) and the walnut stock and barrel even have proof stamps and markings. Mini Mosin 91/30 According to KSA, the first 500 pre-orders will come with a custom wooden crate with matching serial numbers, a sling, a certificate of authenticity and possibly a choice of serial number.Those rifles will retail for $499. After that the regular production models without all the extras will retail for $399. Mini Mosin 91/30 Obviously, we did not shoot one so we cannot attest to its accuracy. They did seem a bit on the short side, but we think the appeal in this rifle is simply that of a scaled-down replica. We do not know when these will be available, but we are already looking forward to which classic model will be next!
