Learn More If you think Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have only their pristine good looks in common, guess again. They now own a pair of Cisco 1911 pistols customized by Jesse James. Like or dislike the two actors as you will, it's good that at least some part of Hollywood is comprised of people who actually own a weapon vs. carrying them on the screen while decrying them in real life. You may remember Jesse James from several TV shows and assorted outraged media reports. As you may recall, he decided to “go back to his roots,” which in part meant building firearms. He recently built matching Cisco 1911s for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and discussed it in an article on Forbes. “I built this custom pair of Cisco 1911’s for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Both are Government size. Her’s is chambered in 9mm and his in .45acp . Both are hand fit from all oversize parts, making them incredibly accurate, well shooting pistols.” Author Susannah Breslin writes further: As James recounts on his Jesse James Firearms Unlimited website, it started when he got fed up with Hollywood: “So almost 5 years ago I decided I was done with California and especially Hollywood, and everything it was about. I came to Texas and reconnected to my passion for building things with my heart and hands. I took my skills and knowledge of metal and started applying it to firearms. It is very special to me that some familiar faces from that past life recognized what I was doing and wanted to be part of it.” Brad’s pistol is inscribed with the words “BIG PAPA.” Angelina’s reads “MAMA KNOWS BEST.” Breslin recounts: In 2014, Pitt, who was born in Oklahoma and raised in Missouri, shared that he grew up with guns: “There’s a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestors’ weapons,” said Pitt. “My brother got my dad’s. I got my grandfather’s shotgun when I was in kindergarten.” […] “The positive is that my father instilled in me a profound and deep respect for the weapon,” he said. Angelina apparently likes to shoot as well and according to the article she's good at it. If you would like to read the article in its entirety, you can can find it here.
