RE Ranger, a division of Randolph Engineering and manufacturer of shooting eye pro, tells us they are launching two new products at SHOT Show this year. They call the lenses MAX-Light and Modified Brown. They will also be introducing described as “…innovative engineering updates to the Falcon Sport and Falcon PRO frames.” We'll do our best to get by there and see if reality matches promise.

Here’s what they have to say about the new releases,

“MAX-Light and Modified Brown both feature RE RANGER NexPC™ high-impact lens technology. Providing safety in all lenses, the technology has five to six times more impact resistance than standard polycarbonate and intrinsic material properties that flex to absorb the force of potential projectiles.

The new MAX-Light lens will improve performance in low light or night shooting under fluorescent lights. The yellow, orange and vermillion properties in this NexPC™ high-impact lens uniquely combine to both enhance contrast and sharpen target definition in low light conditions. Meanwhile, the Modified Brown lens assists the shooter in open sky areas and bright backgrounds. This NexPC™ lens is the unique combination of target orange and sunglass brown, providing a consistently defined target under the full sun. The Modified Brown and MAX-Light lenses are available between $69.00 and $99.00.

Two re-engineered frames, the Falcon Sport and Falcon Pro 2.0, will also be introduced at this month’s show. Each frame offers improved function, fit and field of view. Both offer new aerodynamic stylish lens shapes to cover a larger area of the shooter’s face while creating a larger field of view. The custom-designed minimalist nose piece allows for a better field of view with virtually zero visual obstruction while new air-filled silicon nose pads compress and expand when needed, to provide added comfort and custom fit to the shooter.

The innovative design of the 2016 Falcon Sport arms the shooter with a larger field of view, less visual distractions through the nose-bridge, greater adjustability, ventilation control and an unmatched comfort.

The Falcon Pro 2.0 maintains the great qualities of the Falcon Pro, plus more. The frame is painted with RE RANGER's CombatCoat, a durable ceramic coating used in the firearm industry, making it able to handle virtually all weather conditions. The durable and resilient ceramic coatings surpass abrasion and wear testing, corrosion and chemical resistance.

Shooters have the choice of sizes of 64mm or 72mm in the new frames. Consumers can purchase the 2016 Falcon Sport for $239.00 and the Falcon Pro 2.0 for $229.00.

“We are excited to present our new products at this year’s Shot Show. After hours of consultation with our professional shooters, optical experts and customer base and conducting countless field tests, we are confident that our new products provide the shooter with the competitive edge they expect when using RE RANGER products,” stated Sarah Waszkiewicz, general manager of RE Ranger. “These advancements in our lenses and frames make our products the perfect choice for any shooter.”

The new RE Ranger products will be on display at Randolph Engineering’s booth located at #1225 as well as in the show’s New Product Center.”

What is the NSSF SHOT Show?

The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Typically attended by thousands of people from all 50 states and over a hundred countries, it is (quite rightfully) described as the “…world's premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, and related products and services.

Imagine the Worlds' Fair, but packed with everything from mini-guns and every breed of body armor, bows and boots; from eye pro and ear pro to optics and ordnance, socks to swords…you get the idea. Interestingly (perhaps fortuitously, for some) SHOT 2016 overlaps the 2016 AVN Awards, which would provide us with article fodder of an entirely different nature if we thought anyone there might have good trigger awareness and muzzle discipline…
