New Jersey based Scalarworks (makers of the Aimpoint Micro Low Drag Mount, q.v.) recently released their QD Trijicon MRO Low Drag Mount. They're describing it as the “…lightest quick detach Trijicon MRO mount in existence.” Apparently it weighs just 1.17 ounces, and that includes the sight screws. The Trijicon Miniature Rifle Optic Low Drag Mount is a low profile, lightweight, MIL-STD-1913 Pic rail compatible quick detach optic mount manufactured (as are all Scalarworks Low Drag Mounts) with a monolithic base of 7075-T6 aluminum (if you're reading this like RECOIL editor Iain Harrison you'll need to pronounce that al-loo-MEN-neeyum). It features the Scalarworks proprietary “recoil-proof” notched thumbscrew (they mean shooting recoil, not our magazine) with ball detent. It apparently also has the same precision telescoping clamp as the Aimpoint Micro mount, which is intended to ensure a repeatable zero each time it's installed. The LDM-MRO is available in absolute and lower-third co-witness heights. Apparently the bundle option has been so popular they've doubled their order of MROs to better meet the demand.
